September 27th, 2007

I forgot to tell you, on the 27th of September I went back to Roswell Park for a bone scan.
When you exit a bisphosphonate clinical trial, they have you get a bone scan and go to the dentist to make sure that everything is still the way that it was before the trial. (These are the tests that I had done before I started the trial - as well as the usual blood tests!!)
The bone scan was simple - they give you and injection and then you have to wait 2 hours before they can actually do the scan.
You don't feel any different while the injection is working its way through your body.
Once the time is up, you lay down on the table and the scanner works its way, very slowly, down your whole body. It takes about 30-45 minutes. It is not painful at all!!
It might be abit scary to some bacause you can't move, but that is about it.
I haven't found out what the results are, but I guess "no news is good news" right??
I haven't been to the dentist yet, but I will make it there.

I also haven't told you that....................
the hot flashes are BRUTAL!!!!
I get them about 5 or 6 times a day. Most uncomfortable at night!

I'm still not sleeping well.
When I don't take a sleeping pill (Ambien) I am up about every hour - tossing and turning and trying to go back to sleep.
When I DO take a sleeping pill, I have to take an excedrine migraine tablet before I take it, or else I will wake up a two hours later with a full blown migraine!! (I guess it's a "lose/lose situation"!!) I won't even be taking them once I go back to work, so I'm not sure how I am going to be able to sleep then!!

Oh well................that's all that has been going on.
I have a GYN appointment on the 15th, so I will be checking back in with ya then.
