2 more treatments to go............

.............but welcome to radiation burn !!!!

Below are photos of the burn that I am experiencing.
If you look closely, not that you really want to, you can see where the skin in peeling off.
It is not like when you peel from a sunburn, it is more like when you rip a band-aid off your skin and the first two layers of skin go with it!
It is painful - especially where the elastic to my bra rests.
It is hard to explain what it feels like, but I will try.
It is like....ummmmm......
when you get a blister on the inside of your palm from a shovel when you are shoveling snow (at least if you live in Buffalo you do).
The blister pops, the skin rips off and then you get the blister wet.
You know how it stings?!
Well, that sting just lasts and lasts and lasts!!!!
That is the best way to describe it.
I have ointment to put on it (the kind that they give to burn victims)
but I have only been using it for a day so its not really working yet.
Val told me that it will take about 1 week to start to heal, and that it will be completely healed about a month after treatment stops!! I cannot wait!

Oh, and the shooting pains are no Mardi Gras either!!
It feels like someone is sticking a needle into my chest and hitting it with a hammer, about every 5 or 10 minutes! I can NEVER get use to them!!
The only thing that feels better is when I am in the shower and I am letting the cold water just run over my breast!
That is about the only relief that I can get from both the sting and the shooting pains!
I'm telling you I do not think my breast, or skin, can take much more.
When you check out the photos, I'm sure you will agree.
